In class we are currently reading the novel, Island of the Blue Dolphins. The novel is full of wonderful discriptive writing that really paints a picture in the student's mind. In the novel the author writes about a fish called the devil fish. He never gives us an actual name of what type of fish it is but he gives us a lot of adjectives and characteristics regarding it. After reading the chapter that introduced the devil fish, the students were given a blank piece of paper and were asked to draw what they thought the fish looked like. They then went on to Padlet and wrote about what their devil fish looked like. We then went on a gallery walk looking at the different versions of each devil fish! It was a blast!
