1. Santa Rita Union School District- Salinas, CA 2012- Current

Teacher (Fourth Grade)

At La Joya I worked in a program improvement public school with a class size of up to thirty-two students of mostly English learners. I focused my lessons around the California Common Core Standards as well as Gradual Release of Responsibility model with a large focus in technology. Here I planned lessons with a Common Core based approach individually and collaboratively.

2. Monterey Bay Aquarium Teacher Institute- Monterey, CA July 2013

Participant

Here I worked and participated with colleagues and Aquarium educators in field investigations, implementation of next generation science standards, implementing processing and engineering practices, and working with technology in the classroom. After the programs I held trainings for colleagues during school year in regards to the information obtained.

3. Cesar Chavez Elementary School- Alisal, CA Aug. 2011- June 2012

Cooperating Teacher

My time at Cesar Chavez was spent working in a program improvement public school where over ninety percent of the students were English learners. I Co-Taught and planned a fourth grade and first grade classroom for one semester each. I planned lessons with either a California State Standards based or a curriculum-based approach.

4. HeadStart International School- Phuket, Thailand 2010-2011

Teacher (Second/Third Grade)

At HeadStart I worked as a third grade teacher in an international Cambridge certified school. The classroom had students from all over the world that spoke a total of seven different languages. Here, I fostered a sense of curiosity and understanding of different cultures around the world by developing thematic units.
